This of course depends on your intensity and fitness level. On average, a 70kg person can burn around 535 calories during an hour Zumba class®. Compare this to the same person burning around 415 calories during an hour of moderate swimming, or 685 for an hour of running at 16km per hour. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you've got a Zumba® class!
The Zumba Toning® classes blend body-sculpting techniques and specific Zumba moves into one calorie-burning, strength-training class. You'll use weighted, maraca-like Zumba Toning Sticks to enhance rhythm, build strength and tone all the target zones.
There are no expectations and no pressure. Just great music and heaps of fun - you won't even realise you're exercising!

What to wear
Wear comfortable clothing you are free to move in, like a singlet and pants or shorts. Running shoes or joggers are not the best option as you need to be able to spin and swivel your feet. Shoes without too much traction like dance shoes or sneakers are the better choice for these classes.
Please make sure you bring a towel and bottle of water.
